Echo Garden is a classroom tool built by a teacher, for teachers. This page explains what information the app and this website handle. It’s a plain-language draft — if you’re a school evaluating Echo Garden for use with student data, please reach out for the full details before rolling it out district-wide.
What stays on your device
Voice capture and transcription run locally on your computer. Audio is not uploaded or sent to a third-party speech API, and it is not retained after it’s transcribed.
What’s stored with your account
If you create an account to sync classes across devices, Echo Garden stores your class rosters, behavior logs, and reward history against your account. Student records use first names or initials that you choose — the app does not require or request full legal names, birthdates, or other identifying student information.
Payments
Optional paid features are processed by Stripe. Echo Garden does not receive or store your card details.
